Yani He is an artist from Henan, China. She moved to Chicago in 2024 after completing her MFA in Ceramics at Ohio University. She’s currently working as a ceramic instructor at Lillstreet Art Center. Yani's work delves into the relationship between the familiar and the unknown, questioning the seemingly consistent logic of our physical world. Domestic and industrial objects serve as the backdrop of her work, undergoing reconstruction and rearrangement to subvert the expected. Her work invites viewers to confront the uncanny and question the certainties they hold.
